The FDS plays a key role in helping to identify gaps in relation to Digital Technology and Innovation and in developing and piloting new and innovative programmes to meet the needs of employers, working with Skillset, Sector Skills Council for the sector and Industry Associations such as UKFT. The FDS also works with the Technology in the Curriculum group at UAL to ensure the transfer of technological developments from research and industry to the curriculum.
